Junior Achievement Partnership
How it Works
UCF students will teach the elementary school curriculum to students
in Orange and Seminole County schools. The program will be administered
and coordinated by Junior Achievement of Central Florida in concert with
the Office of Research and Civic Engagement in The Burnett Honors College.
The Junior Achievement Program includes 6 grade
specific themes – Ourselves,
Our Families, Our Community, Our City, Our Region, and Our Nation. These
programs teach students the basic concepts of business, the importance
of being an engaged citizen and show children how education is relevant
to the workplace.
The sequential activities build on concepts and skills from each preceding
grade and prepare students for secondary school and lifelong learning.
- UCF students will present 5 hands-on lessons designed to make learning
fun
- Each lesson will last up to 45 minutes during the regular elementary
school day ( 8:30am-2:30pm)
- All instructional materials will be provided to UCF students
- JA/BHC staff will provide training for UCF students
