Scholarships for Civically Engaged Students

Students who participate in civic engagement demonstrate a well-roundedness that signifies true academic excellence. Accordingly, The Burnett Honors College offers a variety of scholarships and awards to recognize students who excel in the area of community involvement. These opportunities are designed for students who are engaged in any of the Honors Educational Reach Out (HERO) programs, including the service-work that students perform as a part of the Honors Freshman Symposium course. Scholarships that are offered include:

• Junior Achievement HEROes Among Us Scholarship
• Civic Engagement Grants
• Dean’s Award for Civic Excellence

Openly acknowledging our students accomplishments is meant to both reward those that have served, and inspire other students to become actively involved. We encourage every student who makes this choice to apply for one, or a combination of, these scholarships and grants.
